Looking glass

The public looking glass is lg.templass.com. It probes from Templass in Frankfurt.

How to use it

  1. Open lg.templass.com. The heading is Looking glass.
  2. Enter an IPv4, IPv6, or hostname in the target field. Placeholder example: 1.1.1.1 / 2606:4700:4700::1111 / example.com.
  3. Click Ping.

Use it to confirm reachability from the Templass edge, not as a substitute for your own traceroute after cutover.

When it helps

  • After GRE or Cross-Connect bring-up, ping a public resolver and then your protected prefix from an off-net host. The looking glass is the Frankfurt vantage point.
  • When routing looks wrong, compare an off-net traceroute with a probe from FR5.
  • Registry and ASN context lives on AS208743. The looking glass does not replace RIPE.

Looking-glass availability is operational. It is not a separate SLA unless your quote says so. Access may present a challenge before the form.
